Green fingered super stars
On April 12, our colleagues in Latvia came together to plant approximately 2,000 pine saplings – continuing an inspiring tradition that began last year.
Pine trees were chosen for their environmental significance and resilience. They grow rapidly, efficiently absorb carbon dioxide, and are well-suited to Latvia’s sandy soils. These trees play a vital role in stabilising land, preventing erosion, and supporting a rich diversity of wildlife, including birds, insects, mosses, and fungi. Beyond their ecological impact, pine forests hold cultural importance in Latvia and offer restorative benefits to human health and wellbeing.
Corporate responsibility
Vita Pauzere, Quality Systems Manager in Latvia says: “As a company that relies on local resources to manufacture our metal components for industries across the globe, it is both fitting and meaningful that we invest in giving back to the environment. Initiatives like this not only promote corporate responsibility but also inspire a sense of personal accountability within our teams.
This is an example of sustainability in action – strengthening our connection to the environment, nurturing team relationships, and enriching our culture on many levels.
Journey of sustainability
Anna Haesert, Head of Sustainability concludes: “The tree planting day in Latvia serves as a powerful reminder that sustainability isn’t just a goal – it’s a shared journey and I congratulate the Latvian team on their brilliant initiative.
